Extra Outfits
About
Extra Outfits adds 13 new and balanced Outfits to the EV: Override universe. Among them are an Auto-Eject System, like that found in the original EV, three different types of Armor, a Speed Increase/Fuel Scoop hybrid and even an outfit to aid your crew in capturing ships!
The Outfits
Auto-Ejection SystemItem Price: 4,000 cr If you have an escape pod installed, the Auto-Ejection System will save you the worry of manually bailing out of your ship should it be destroyed in combat. Author's Comments: Though I don't usually play in strict mode, I found that when I did I would always die because I forgot to eject. So I made a plugin that added an Auto Eject System like the one found in the original EV. |
Quadrant MapItem Price: 20,000 cr This map will automatically update your ship's computer with information about surrounding systems up to four jumps away. Author's Comments: Don't be fooled, this is not a replacement for the reigonal map. It may reveal twice as many systems, but it also costs ten times as much. It's meant for when you want to finish exploring the galaxy. |
Miranu HyperdriveItem Price: 750,000 cr The Miranu Z-3684B hyperdrive is capable of propelling massive vessels several times faster than their standard hyperdrives. Most ships outfitted with these hyperdrives spend approximately two days less in hyperspace than they normally would. Author's Comments: This outfit spawned out of need. I always hated having to sell my pimped-out warship just to one single timed mission. So that's why I added a hyperdrive outfit to Extra Outfits early in development. |
Hyperdrive DowngradeItem Price: 5,000 cr By removing part of your hyperdrive you can squeeze an extra 5 tons of weapons on to your ship, however each jump will take 1 more day. This modification is very popular with captains that don't have deadlines to make. Author's Comments: Though not a necessary outfit, it's a useful one none the less. Nearly all of my ships have had it at one time or another. It's kind of like a Mass Expansion, that doesn't suck. (hint: buy two of these and the Miranu Hyperdrive and you get an extra 5 tons of space while only sacrificing 755,000 Credits.) |
EZ-Jump™ 2.3.6Item Price: 250,000 cr EZ-Jump™ 2.3.6, will upgrade your existing jump software, cutting the distance you need to travel from the mass of a solar system to jump almost in half, it's very popular with freighters' captains, because of the freighter's slow speed. Author's Comments: Ah, my first outfit with all new graphics. Of course, it wasn't always a box... Anywho, this is a pretty neat outfit. It's not a "life saving" outfit, but it does save loads of time when you're doing trade runs since you don't have to fly away from the planet as far. |
EZ-Jump™ BetaItem Price: 1.75 Million cr EZ-Jump™ 2.3.7, will soon be available on the open market as the upgrade for EZ-Jump™ 2.3.6, however you may "beta test" 2.3.7, if you pay a shabby looking StarSoft "employee" 1.75 million credits. Author's Comments: Although realistically you shouldn't be able to, if you combine the two EZ-Jump outfits, you can jump out of most systems without moving, turning two almost worthless outfits into life saving nescessities. |
Shield ScoopItem Price: 16,000 cr The X-300 Shield Ramscoop was designed to fit on the nose of fighters to give them an edge with after burners, though it doesn't regenerate your fuel as fast as the traditional fuel scoop, it's very light, which makes it extremely versatile. Author's Comments: I've said it before, and I'll say it again: fuel scoops are the most useful outfit in the game. |
Enesorb PlatingItem Price: 25,000 cr Enesorb has a special property that makes it resistant to energy weapons. Although not very protective, it will almost double the armour on a Scoutship. Author's Comments: I always buy a layer of this when I pilot a Scoutship. |
DuraTechItem Price: 50,000 cr Cheap, effective and light, DuraTech is the most popular armour for sale in United Earth Space. Author's Comments: Arada + Enesorb + Duratech = 1337. |
TritaniumItem Price: 1 Million cr While these plates are only a fraction of the thickness of Dospect armour, they are more protective and much more expensive. Author's Comments: Tritanium is a little more protective than Dospect Armour, and a little less protective than Bronev Plating. The Mass is about the same as both in relitive terms, but it's cost is nearly twice as much. |
Cargo PodItem Price: 75,000 cr This small cargo pod is designed to fit under the wing of a fighter or other small vessel to increase it's cargo space, though more efficient than a Cargo expansion, it's more expansive, and you can only fit 4 of them to your ship. Author's Comments: This is yet another outfit that spawned out of need. I was doing some mission string, and I had already filled up my UE Fighter's cargo hold with something else, so I couldn't get the next mission. And so, I added a very small Cargo Expansion that I could sell when I was done. |
External EngineItem Price: 75,000 cr This completely self-contained engine increases a ship's top speed without tapping into any fuel resources. It is in fact so efficient that there is usually excess fuel generated, which can then be diverted from the engine and into your fuel tank. Author's Comments: This is a great little item that I usually put on all of my ships. Really, it's one of the niftiest outfits in Extra Outfits. |
Assault DroidItem Price: 2 Million cr The XR-13 Mechanized Assault Droid is armed with two six barreled gatling guns, a napalm thrower, a grenade launcher and is fitted with three inch thick composite armour. The droid also runs an advanced combat AI, capable of out smarting most sentient beings. The only real draw back to the XR-13 is that it requires five tons of your weapon's space when not in use. Author's Comments: This outfit was more of a gimmick than anything else; I just wanted to use the "Marine" Outfit Type. Please note that this outfit is only available after completion of Paaren Station. |
Goodies
Several small Plug-Ins that do very specific things are included with Extra Outfits.
Extra Bays allows you to purchase or sell the UE Fighter Bay, Zidagar Fighter Bay and Voinian Heavy Fighter Bay after completing their respective missions. (Extra Bays also adds graphics for each bay, which are made from the actual Infini-D models of the fighters and modified versions of the bays)
Turret Fix makes turrets take up only a turret slot (version 2.0 fixes gun slots so its more balanced).
Armour Display shows armor status instead of "Shields Down" on Voinian ships.
